Expanding Your Child's Opportunities to Learn and Achieve

Support Us

Welcome friends of the OCYL! The OCYL has been working diligently since 2007 to expand children’s opportunities to learn and achieve.  We believe learning does not only take place at school but “around the clock”.  OCYL is a municipal department, however all of our programs are run through grants, donations and program fees. To continue providing new opportunities and sustain our current programming, we need your best ideas, time, energy, talent and as much philanthropic support as possible.  Please review the ways you may support our work below.

Consider a Donation- The OCYL is a town department that relies on a variety of funding sources for its programs. In addition to funds from the Cumberland Local Education Foundation (CLEF), grants, government agencies, and local businesses, we also need the generosity of individual donors to accomplish all of our goals.  We thank our past supporters and look forward to working with new friends as the programs grow. Gifts can be directed to specific programs or events. Please make donations payable to "CLEF". OUR GOAL for this year is to raise $25,000 to support technology and staffing for our programs. In addition, a new scholarship fund has been started for Graduating Youth Commissioners.

GIVE THE GIFT OF LITERACY
Adopt a Reader
- The cost of a child attending 36 weeks of our Early Childhood Literacy program taught by Master degreed teachers in a classroom with a 1:6 teacher to student ratio is just $1200. Any way you look at it, it is a small price to pay for the gift of literacy and a life-long love of reading! Click here to download the "Adopt a Reader" form!
